Gaudirem – Where Love Meets the Art of Circus

Some festivals are more than a celebration of performance—they become a meeting point of imagination, heritage, and the human spirit. The 1st International Circus Festival Gaudirem was exactly that.

Inspired by the timeless vision of Antoni Gaudí and guided by his beautiful philosophy, "First love, then technique," Gaudirem invited artists and audiences alike to remember that every great creation begins with passion. Technique gives shape to art, but love gives it life.

Set against the Mediterranean charm of Premià de Mar, the festival transformed the town into a vibrant stage where circus, architecture, poetry, and creativity came together. Every performance carried its own unique voice, yet all shared the same heartbeat: joy, emotion, and connection.

Among the unforgettable moments was the poetic clown Paolo Casanova Carillon , reminding us that laughter and tenderness often speak the deepest truths. Costumes inspired by the breathtaking forms of the Sagrada Família echoed Gaudí's organic beauty presented by Carmen Ribass , turning artists into living works of art and celebrating the dialogue between movement and architecture.

Behind this inspiring new festival stands the Bogino–Zavatta family, together with Circus Smile, whose dedication has created a space where tradition meets innovation and where the circus continues to evolve while keeping its heart firmly rooted in humanity.

A special highlight of the festival was the performance of Trixie Zavatta, who appeared as an invited guest, performing out of competition. Her presence honored the festival with the elegance, artistry, and rich circus heritage of the Zavatta name, offering audiences a memorable performance that celebrated both tradition and the enduring magic of the circus.

Today, 12 July 2026, the festival reaches its exciting finale as the winners are announced. Yet beyond awards and applause, Gaudirem has already achieved something truly special: it has brought together artists from different backgrounds to celebrate creativity, courage, and the simple truth that love always comes before technique.

May this first edition be only the beginning of a beautiful tradition. Congratulations to every performer, every organizer, every volunteer, and every spectator who made Gaudirem a festival to remember.

Because the greatest performances are not only seen—they are felt.
